Meet the Team
Caroline Grey
Director and Chief Designer
Since qualifying in 1983, I have worked in the design industry in various disciplines – as an Interior Designer, working with corporate clients in office design; in facilities management for Hewlett Packard; with various companies in Timber Frame Engineering and with a Flood Defence company with manufacturing, prior to starting my own business. During the later part of my career, after moving to Swansea with my Welsh husband in 2000, I have worked on many house projects for individuals outside of office hours and so I decided to make this my full-time business in 2016.
By working in so many different areas I have gained in depth experience of the detailed aspects of building works for domestic properties and can also apply this knowledge to commercial projects. I really enjoy working with people to provide the projects they require by means of my drawings and helping them understand all the aspects of their projects.
My main purpose is to help my clients to get through the (sometimes) tricky path of the Planning process, in order to achieve the Consent they need to move onto the next phase of any project which is Building Control, prior to beginning the site work for any project, these processes need to be in place to help keep the project on track.
I have many contacts within the building industry who can help with the variety of issues which can arise during this process, from Planning Consultants and Structural Engineers through to Ecologists and Tree Experts (Arboriculturists) and other design aspects such as Interiors or Kitchens. I work with builders to help their clients through the processes ready for the work to commence on site, with easy-to-read drawings and information which assist the all-important costing part of a project.
Above all, I always want to design the best layout and fulfil all the wishes and requirements of my Clients, to gain the space and light they dream of which will change the way they feel about their home. So, whether you hope for a large or small extension, an attic room with ensuite or to incorporate your garage into your living space, please give me a call – I’ll come out to you to have a look round and give you some ideas of the space we can achieve, together!
Lesley Pearson
Personal Assistant to Caroline
Shortly after the pandemic hit SEAGREY Design became extremely busy.
This was due to a greater number of people working from home and deciding to upgrade their homes by adding extensions, creating extra rooms in their lofts and/or garage conversions.
The Director Caroline realised that as she had many enquiries coming into her business which were being converted to clients, she needed to concentrate on the client Drawing aspect of her business. To do this Caroline created a Personal Assistant position to cover all the administration required for the business to run smoothly.
‘I am Lesley and I joined the business on a part-time basis in March 2021 working with Caroline as her back office Personal Assistant.
My main tasks are looking after the business diary, creating client Quotes, and following up with Invoices, managing our banking and accounting package along with our Client Relationship Management system.
This system has streamlined our processes which increases our customer service capability and ensures we manage the interactions with our clients ensuring that all the important steps are covered.
It also means we know exactly what stage of the process each client is at, what the next step is and what is required of all parties. This is especially useful when completing, submitting, and monitoring Local Authority Planning applications on our client’s behalf.
I do this on a part-time basis whilst operating my own Utility Consulting business alongside Caroline in our shared office space in Port Talbot. Please see full details on our Trusted Associates page.’
